Intimate Riverside Wedding | Virginia Wedding Photographer
Anna and Tyler had an intimate wedding along the river in Elkton, VA. Like most couples that are getting married this time of year, their original wedding plans had to change due to covid-19. On top of that these two had moved across the country just two months ago! They were both so calm and go with the flow with everything! You would have never known that any of this caused them any stress (even though I’m sure there were some stressful times!) They were just happy for their wedding day!
When I arrived I was greeted by Anna’s Mom, Michelle. I had been photographing Anna’s younger sister, Megan for her senior photos recently so I had already met her and some of the family. It was so sweet to feel like I had already connected with them and was greeting friends! Anna and the bridesmaids were getting ready in a RV! That was a new one for me! Even though it was a tiny space as soon as I opened the door Anna was there getting her makeup done by Megan and had a huge smile on her face! My second shooter Ashley and I began photographing details and scoping out the perfect photo locations for their portraits. The sun was shining and you could hear the quiet rush of the water. It really was quite peaceful!
Anna and Tyler chose to wait to see each other when Anna was walking down the aisle, but she did do a first look with her Dad! It was so sweet! I love first looks of any kind! There is so much emotion involved and I love to capture those moments because of how real they are! You cannot reduplicate those type of smiles! When Anna was walking down the aisle Tyler had such a huge smile on his face! I’m pretty sure he may have held back some tears. After a beautiful ceremony we took some family portraits, Anna and Tyler had their first dance and then we enjoyed some yummy tacos! I mean who doesn’t love tacos!?! The day ended with the two of them dancing to their last song of the night while surrounded by their family with sparklers! Even though their wedding was different than the original plan, it was nothing short of perfect! I am so blessed to have been a part of your day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes!
Anna made this sign herself!
Such cute details! And I LOVE unplugged weddings! It’s a great way for your guests to sit back and be involved with the ceremony vs taking photos!
Anna’s friend made her dress hanger for her!
Seeing Mother/Daughter moments like this makes me think of when I will have those with my own daughter!
I love that they included their 3 pups Daisy, Belle, and the little one is Taco! How CUTE is that bow tie!?
Anna with her Mom and two sisters! So pretty!
These photos by the river were taken at Sunset! This is my favorite portrait time!
Thank you both for trusting me with your special day!
