I met Derek and Whitney back in February of 2020 when I was photographing their friends engagement. Later that year Derek reached out to see if I could capture their big moment for them, I actually squealed out loud with excitement! Their proposal was at Colonial Beach where Derek had everything set up for a romantic proposal right by the water! 10 months later it was time for their big wedding day!

Their wedding day took place at Frieden Farms. The farm is nestled in the historic Shenandoah Valley. It is surrounded by rolling farmland and mountain views all around! It made the perfect backdrop for their sunny wedding day!

Derek and Whitney chose to do a first touch with each other which was really special! It is definitely a good alternative to a first look. You can still talk to one another and it’s a fun photo op as well!

The ceremony was picture perfect and reception was full of dancing! Check out some of my favorites from their wedding day!
